So there has been a lot of concern by people asking about what happened to their favorite discount online shoe store shoedawg.com and where did it go .

At first the site was down with a page saying coming soon , but now it seems like the website is completely down .  So what happened ? No one really seems to know , could be the economic times or maybe something else.

Through my investigations I have been told by some pretty reliable sources, though these facts cannot be confirmed that shoedawg.com is out of business.  I was told that a lot of their troubles started by over buying some limited edition Dansko clogs, it seems they might have bought the complete line of the Dansko Clog limited edition shoes .   Well when they bought them  the economy collapsed and thats when all the trouble began and well things didnt work out to well.  They were not able to sell the shoes as well as they did and things went down hill from there.

I was told they left texas and now residing in the north some where in Montana or Minesotta .

I have emailed shoedawg.com with no response . but, if anyone else has anymore information send it over or post it here.

we will miss you shoedawg.com !!

I was wondering if you knew anyone that we could contact about getting our money from shoedawg.com? My mother sent back some shoes a week before the “under construction” message came up on the site. We have tried calling and e-mailing but she has not been credited, which was supposed to be over a $100. Has anyone a clue who we could contact? Isn’t it illegal to skip out with people’s money? This has been really frustrating.

Thanks!

At this point if the story above is true, it is going to be hard to get your money back especially if they filed for bankruptcy from them . But there is hope , how did you pay for the item ? If it was with a credit card I would call the credit card company and do a charge back, if it was done with paypal or google checkout contact with one of those companies to do a charge back for you . most of those companies have seller protection either way though you should contact your credit card company to do a charge back asap.

I ORDERED SHOES AS WELL AND HAD TO RETURN FOR A BIGGER SIZE; NO REPLY, NO SHOES AND NO MONEY BACK! OUCH, AT LEAST I DIDN’T ORDER A PAIR OF DANSKOS; THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A BIG CHUNK-O-MONEY. I AM OUT LESS THAN $35!!

Lucky you , to bad that they just disappeared and did not try to fulfill their orders and returns . We are really shocked they were around for so long and to go away like that . These are hard times I imagine

WOW. I am shocked at some of these replies.!
ShoeDawg.com was my favorite site to shop for shoes.
They had the best site around as far as ease of shopping and the best selection of shoes!. They really worked extremely hard at customer service for a small family operation. It is so very very sad that our US economy is “ENABLING” small business to be run right OUT OF BUSINESS.
Thought this was “THE” America were small business was founded. It seems the US has lost sight of this goal and the good ole American Dream is no longer!! NOt only did ShoeDawg.com become another statistic of these horrible times. But it goes hand in hand with all of the rest of the Americans loosing there jobs to overseas employments where Employers can pay less for a foreign worker than an american counterpart. You can see this all over the news and is happening daily by the thousands and unempolyment sky rocketing. IT IS NO WONDER A SMALL MOM AND POP SHOE STORE CANT STAY IN BUSINESS WHEN MORE AND MORE AMERICANS HAVE LESS DISPOSABLE INCOME TO SPEND ON SHOES!! NOT to even get started on how THE BANKING SYSTEM HAS NOT Been loaning Capital to SMALL BUSINESS for years… but dont let me get started on that long road!!
I FEEL SO VERY VERY SORRY and saddened for ttheir situation amongst MANY MANY others in the US.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE GREAT 6 YEARS SHOEDAWG. You gave it the ole american good hearted try! We loved you and you will surely be missed!!

PS: EVeryone else should feel the same and STAND UP for what is right in the country OR at least start paying attention! IF you were left without a refund dont cry to hard, just contact the Credit Card Companies and get your money back from them THEY ARE THE MODERN DAY SLAVERY!!

6 An Old & Sad Customer April 13, 2009 at 10:55 am

I have been a customer of ShoeDawg.com since they were almost in business. I probably had purchased close to 25 pairs of shoes from them over a 4-5 year period. They were a very small family owned husband and wife company. Many times I called in I would actually speak with the lady owner and she was absolutely terrific to deal with and always put the customer first. They went way out of there way to take care of their customers. I am disappointed to see that they went out of business as well. I had an exchange in the process and it has been returned to me as well, but I am not complaining about that. You other customers should just eBay your shoes you are stuck with, give them away, etc. If you have lost some money due to them going out of business just contact your credit card company, god knows they charge enough interest to just refund your money.

Anyone who has ever shopped with this small family owned company should feel sad for them as they are just now another statistic. The big get bigger and we are all to blame. Had I known they were having financial problems I would have donated money to keep them in business.

God Bless

It is pretty sad when people get onto a blog and have to dog someone they know nothing about. Shoedawg.com was a great company to buy shoes from. I have purchased alot of shoes from them. I’ve never had any problems with returning shoes and getting my money back or getting exchanges.
The way the economy is, if you look around there is alot of businesses closing at this time. It’s really scary. Yes, there are ways to get your money back. Just investigate.
If there is someone getting on here that has personal issues with the people who owed it, it’s not anyone elses business.
It’s between you and them. If it is the case of them having to file bankrupty, then I wish them the best of luck.
I hate to see a mom and pop business fail. It seems like all the small businesses get closed done due to our wonderful government.

WELL “GAV”…..
Although i am not the business owners themselves, I am however a small business owner of what once was a small ’boutiqish’ furniture and accessory store that was awesome. I have also had to Close my doors this last year. I did love buying shoes from ShoeDawg and felt they must have suffered some of the same problems i did; by simply using my intelligence and OH am JUST A NICE PERSON! Your comments on the other hand sound like you know them personally and have some sort of vendetta! I also am a die hard REPUBLICAN and you have NO IDEA what you are talking about and must be an ignorant Democrat who has ONE never taken a entrepreneurial risk in your life and had to practically kill yourself starting up a business and TWO must be Democrat and think it is ok for the U.S. to BAIL OUT ALL THE BIG business and hand out money to them meanwhile TAXING the small business to death! Have you ever even turned on your TV and seen the words AIG?. WAKE UP!.

9 Concerned Customer April 17, 2009 at 12:31 pm

I can’t believe some of the things I am reading above. I think this blog was started for all of the concerned customers like me who were wondering where shoedawg went. Nobody needs to know their personal problems or anybody’s political views.

Most people are concerned with only two things,
1. Did Shoedawg go out of business? It seems unfortunately yes.
2. How do we get our money back for shoes we were going to return? Simply do a chargeback with your credit card company.

All of this other nonsense should just be removed from here. It is unprofessional and ignorant. Everyday more and more businesses are closing and unfortunately it is something we are just going to have to deal with.

Any other great discount Dansko suggestions?

11 Curiuos April 23, 2009 at 10:55 pm

Weird how Gav just did a drive bye and then left. In what I understand of these type of blogs (not a lot) those people may not know anything at all they just jump in and give some opinion. So….Gav…GO if you have anything else. I’m just a 40 something who likes to buy my fit flops from them.. :) But I don’t know where to do it now…my daughters like them too.

I’m with the others who are saddened at ShoeDawg’s demise. I was a longtime customer went looking to order some spring shoes and was baffled that I couldn’t find the site. They were a wonderful, small company — the kind I prefer to patronize– and every transaction was carefree, efficient and professional. Lovemyshoes, I believe you are spot on, and I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments and analysis. I wish the ShoeDawg folks the best, and hope they realize that they were appreciated and will be missed.

I just happen to stumble on this thread and can’t believe ShoeDawg is out of business. I noticed on eBay they changed the name from Shoe Professor to another. I have bought over 100 pairs of shoes from Adam; all Dansko/Sanita. I last tried to buy some Born boots, but they weren’t putting my size on eBay. I’m going to check right now if they have any listigs.
Adam, if you are reading this thread, I hope you and your family are OK and I am sending good thoughts your way during this time of uncertainty in the business world. Thanks for all the Great shoes I own. Your customer service was AWESOME!

I CHECKED EBAY AND THE LAST TRANSACTION WAS AT THE END OF APRIL. THEY HAVE NO LISTINGS FOR SALE, BUT THE ACCOUNT IS STILL OPEN. THE NAME IS shoes2xcess.

I too have purchased soooo many pairs of Danskos, Sanitas, and Alegria shoes from ShoeDawg and have reffered their website to all my friends and we had awesome experience with all our purchases. It’s sad to know if they really did go down.
I love all my shoes I purchased from ShoeDawg and I wear them all the time. Customer Service was awesome, order processing was topnotch.
I would like for them to get back in the business and I will be there to help boost the economy.

I have to announce that I had to remove some remarks made on this post. I do not believe in censure ship , it is the way Nazi started by burning books , but after reading and careful thinking of what should be done , I have come to the decision that this blog is not where certain comments on here belong, if someone had a problem with someone there are other websites for that and this is not one of them . This post was about missing our beloved favorite site shoedawg.com and the question many were asking as to where they went. Any of comments are welcomed but making personal attacks or allegations is really not what we are looking for. If you have a problem with coach and they made a defected shoe and did not care if and you wanted to rant then this is the place. But please no personal attacks unless its about me then I more than welcome it ,just do not to be to hard on me

I wish shoedawg and everyone else affected by the economy luck and hope that they and the rest of the country bounces back soon !!
