’09 – Its Ankle Boots This Time!

The sun has mellowed, and the breeze has set in; bringing the message of change- the fall has come!
And with this transition comes the transition period in fashion. This fall the volume is in. boyfriend dressing also continues with a slight change here and there. And to complement this look the boots have taken the stage.

Fall’09 catwalk was a washed with boots and especially ankle boots. Five years earlier, ankle boots were a safe and sane choice for women during winters. Back then, it was knee length boots ruling the trend books. This year, the recession has softened the forecasters and they have declared ankle boots the winner. And with this declaration, variations of the same have flooded the style books and catalogues providing fashionable women exactly what they are looking for.
There is a variety of ankle boots: from flats to heels to touch the roof with, or the regular 2 inch for a decent wearer, they come in animal print or in suede, in glossy colors or black patent, peep toes or laser cut outs to add sensuality, or to make it fetish with biker buckles fasteners or Victoriana lace-ups. Each variation has its own charm, which is not only obvious to us but the opposite sex as well.
And now that you have the boots, let’s move on further and talk about what to wear with them. It has already been experienced by all, hence it’s a known fact that ankle boots are difficult to co ordinate, no matter how sexy they look on stands. Here are a few tips to come handy this winters,
• Never wear shorts, capris, Cropped Pants or tights, pencil skirts or even mid length skirts. They tend to cut your height and make you look plump.
• Long skirts with volume are always a good pick. It’s like a classic to wear them together.
• Shapely calves are a problem for these shoes. But don’t get disappointed, look for the highest heel and also you can team them with your best pair of trousers for the chic element.
